Maria Dunn with Craig Korth & Karen Donaldson

I enjoyed this show.  I would describe it as a folk show with some celtic flavour.  Many (most?) of lyrics based on events that occurred in Canada, including many about Alberta and Edmonton, and I found the history most interesting.

John Renbourn & Jackie McShee:

Another great show. McShee has an amazing voice, and Renbourn's guitar playing is spectacular. I tend to appreciate 'doom and gloom' songs, and this performance has no shortage of those. I also really enjoyed the Celtic flavour of much of the music.

Hmm, for the last hour or more the rain has been coming down as white crystals. If it wasn't summer I would think it was snowing.

I got my Three Worms and an Orchestra DVD today. In case you don't know what i'm talking about The Arrogant Worms and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra put on a show at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton on January 22, 2002. I sent an email to BBC Kids (a TV channel) via a webpage asking if they were planning to carry the new season of Doctor Who.  I was a little surprised to get a non-canned response today.  It is nice to get a reply, and it is even better when an actual person actually answers your question.  It took a week and a half but I won't complain about that ( Read more... )
