- Favourite character ever - Who and what were they and why did you like them so much?
Gotta be Sister Mary Lazarus. She's a nun in Gold Rush era California, sent there to help deal with the abominations that have been stalking around and generally carrying on cranky. I like her because she went into the campaign armed only with her faith, and on her first encounter, sent a rogue priest packing just by out-preaching him. She then learned how to fight with a whip and a cross. - Favourite Campaign ever - What was happening? Who was running it? What was so great about it?
Probably the epic four-year campaign that lucasjudge ran, "Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil". It followed the book pretty much, and it worked because by the end of it, only one player had their original character (a fighter dwarf). We even had character deathy in the first session! - Favourite NPC ever - Who and what were they and why did you like them so much?
This would either be Aramil, a half-drow in the above campaign, or Aglam Follows The Sun in the Deadlands campaign with Sister Mary. The former was evil, but we let him join the group for a bit anyway. He had 18 charisma, so we were hardly likely to refuse! Aglam, on the other hand, was a young Indian shaman trapped in a wizened old body, who once blew an agent of the Reckoners across five states. - Favourite Setting ever - Which setting was it and why was it so great?
Running a GURPS game and dumping the characters in either Callahan's bar or Lady Sally's place was always good fun. Especially when one of hte players was being a Victorian gentleman scientist! It worked because GURPS is designed to cross genres, and Spider Robinson's creations can deal with almost any situation without slipping out of character. - Favourite Roleplay moment involving you - Has there been a moment that you're particularly proud of? What is it and why?
My first D&D character - Ivellios, a priest of St Cuthbert the Cudgel. The party was faced with a group of animated human skeletons, and an animated ogre skeleton. Ivellios raised his holy symbol and invoked his patron. A sheet of lightning consumed the human skeletons, and the skeletal ogre tried to claw its way through a wall! - Favourite Roleplay moment involving someone else - Has there been a moment that you've applauded as being brilliant by another player? Who? What and why?
Not sure if this counts, but there was an amusing moment when someone else failed two guts checks in a row during a Deadlands session. The first one cost him a level of shooting skill; the second caused him to have a mild heart attack, age two years and develop a phobia of big ol' plantation-style houses! - Favourite other person's character- Who were they? What were they? Who played them and why were they so great?
The GURPS games mentioned above I started running for lucasjudge, so that she could have a break from running. I really liked the character that she played (the AM Victorian), especially when confronted with things like time travel and alien life. (It was also a Doctor Who campaign). - Favourite role-play line - is there a great line that you or someone else has said in character? What is it and why was it so good?
In one Deadlands session, Sister Mary was trying to invoke a blessing and kind of fumbled the words:"Holy Mary, Mother of God, send us fish and let it be cod!"
It had the desired effect... - Favourite Story twist - Has there been a favourite moment where you thought, "Didn't see that one coming!"? What is it and why was it so great?
Actually, no. Unless you count Aramil being a bastard and nicking lots of Stuff before falling foul of a lightning rod. - I'm tempted to put favourite DM but that could cause arguments...so favourite ever character death and why?
I don't think that there were any "good" character deaths. I mean, it's someone's character dying.
ION, I have applied for a couple more jobs, having tweaked my CV a little more than before. *Crosses fingers*
