It's a good thing you're dropping Chinese. While learning another language can be a lot of fun, it's not good to push yourself too hard. Finding the right balance is important.

Also, lazy is not a word I would ever use to describe you. Procrastinate? Sometimes, but nowhere near as much as me. A lot of the time though, you almost seem like a workaholic, constantly doing so many things. I don't think I could ever manage all the classes, work, and other commitments (like choir and such) that you do to fill up your time.

Parents have high hopes for their children (they sometimes think their kids can do anything), so his feelings are understandable, but I'm sure he's still very proud of you.

Any comments on my laziness can be answered with a swift kick in the junk.

Dropping Chinese is absolutely the right thing for you to do. It's too bad that your dad's disappointed, but he'll come around. Anyone who tries to make you feel like you're lazy or dishonourable for cutting unnecessary stress out of your life is fucking scum, okay?

Sorry for reposting this a zillion times. I am up way too late.

What happened that it ceased to be enjoyable? I think I missed the memo on that one.

You know if you made the right choice. And if you did, then more power to you, girl. :]

Read Ali's comment, basically. I just don't want to work myself into the ground and be super-stressed all the time about something that I don't need to be doing, and really don't want to be doing anymore.

You're reminding me of why I stopped taking Japanese classes, as much as they truly were enjoyable... it was simply SO MUCH work (stressful). And I simply couldn't handle it at the time along with everything else that was on my plate.
