You could just make a series of sequential short stories into a novel.

I've actually planned for this with both the current series' that I am running (one Mystery, the other SF) but the published story word-count to date is nowhere close to being large enough -- one is around 20,000 words and the other series is 30,000. I could make up the bulk with unpublished stuff, but that's still to come.
