Hmm high school? Was he your first real love? If so that is kind of a separate category itself and I wouldn't necessarily say that he was "the one". Plus like you said other people have told you love at that age is different than love as an adult. Your priorities and expectations are totally different.
Besides I'm of the belief that if a person is "the one" than any trials and tribulations would have been able to been overcome.
Actually I don't know her aside from the fact that I know she is Amy's friend. I just clicked on Amy's friends link one time at work when I was extrememly bored and felt compelled to leave a comment. So don't feel too bad... I was just LJ "stalking" I guess.
