My low grades are ruining my opportunities for my future. It is really pissing me off. I know I'm smart, I wouldn't have been able to pass my courses with pretty much only tests and no studying otherwise... but, fuck. I don't have the 75% average that I need. My only hope is to study real hard and pass my English 11 and Bio 11 exams with really ( Read more... )

What I need to do is make a list so I can see everything. That usually helps me. ):

But most of the things on the list are things that I've tryed, and really don't work at all.

Also, Number 6 on the first one is a giant contradiction.

Haha, yeah. I actually read it and then decided that the advice was the typical bullshit you'd hear from some unhelpful teacher at school that you'd hate the guts of. Check the other comment for something better.

I did. It was definately better, but.... isn't it a waste of time to pretend to be reading when you could be really reading?

That is unfortunate - I kind of have the same sort of situation, and I usually end up falling asleep reading my cell biology text book.

That said, I will do anything in my power to help you! Anything at all. 'cept cheating, because Fuji doesn't work like that!

Well, I shall try anyway. :D

1) First, when studying, only study in short intervals of 10-15 minutes. This gives you more beginnings and ends, and really, you only remember the beginnings and ends of things. So study for a while, go do something, and study again.

2) When taking notes, take short notes with more pictures, and less words. This is because you remember visual stuff, like pictures, more then words. Also, try to cut down on words, because thats considered 'brain clutter', and just keeps you from getting the main idea: Use abbreviations. (As Ms. Writing Teacher said.)

3) After you take down half assed notes, about 15 minutes later, write out good notes. This will put that info into your long term memory, so you can recall it better.

You may have heard this stuff, if you have a lesbian/man writing teacher who gives you study tips, like I do, but I just want to help. ♥

I feel the same with my Sciencias.
It's just so incredibly boring that I really cannot focus.

I've decided that if I cannot finish it by summer, I will take it in summer school. I will save up the money for it.

But this is why home-school/correspondence sucks for procrastinators like us: we cannot be motivated to do it by ourselves.
