Me: How do I write the language for this story? I mean, in a parallel world, without technology, would the language be archaic or more like ours ( Read more... )

Technically, the root is Dutch, and it's "fokken." It gained the, er, modern implication long before it entered English around a thousand years ago, mind. "Fricken" is a modification of "frig," which means to masturbate (to rub). It eventually goes back to Latin, fricare, to rub. It may or may not have meant "to quiver" in Middle English.

Someday, I will do good with my knowledge. But that day is not today.

And, as a side note, I'd still like to say (accuracy notwithstanding) it was a damned funny phone conversation... especially since I had the mental image of men penis-dueling. LOL
