(no subject)
a reason why i love my boyfriend: i've been really broken out lately and so i got into bed with green mint julep mask all over my face, my hair back, a ratty headband and sweatpants on. k says, "mm, you smell all minty," and then reads the princess bride to me for half an hour. how could anyone not adore this man?!
a lot of things feel like they've snuck up on me lately, and all of a sudden i'm into december. tomorrow k and i are driving down to pittsburgh to make a quick stop before we take the longer drive down to north carolina and housesit for his friends jay and dana for a week. i'm thinking i should get some good layering pieces and flats, because we get to take a free tango class down there! kevin's excited and i am too - i'm also hoping to be able to not look like too much of a fool to make a good impression.
after we get back, i'm back in phoenixville area for a few days, and then going to salem, where he's coming and meeting me - and my family. eek. we were at our friends' david and justine's house last night, where david cautioned him about various things - including one of my aunts. i am so glad someone else appreciates how badly this could go. however, it introduces the point to my family in general that whether they like it or not, i like this man and he is fun, so if they want to meet grand-nieces, they're going to have to be nice to him (and maybe start being nice to me).
after salem, we're packing all my pittsburgh stuff and i'm coming and moving up to bradford with him! this isn't the first time i'm going to be living with someone (remember the digusting dan debacle, anyone?), and i'm glad to know at least sort of what to expect. considering that i've been essentially living here since september anyway, though, i don't think it's going to be much of a change - i'll just have more of my own books around, which couldn't possibly be a bad thing! also, justine and david are going to be in town (which is one of the best same-place-at-the-same-time circumstantial occurences EVER), so i can have some company driving back and also david's strong back to help move my loveseat!
all in all, i'm really quite excited for december.
oh, and, here's a picture from my birthday which i've been meaning to post. in case you're not a facial expression expert, i had a pretty good time:
