damn internet torture

Is anyone else in Seattle having trouble with their Speakeasy internet? We called them to complain about the speed of our connection and they essentially said, "Oh, sorry, the lines out to belltown are really old and there's nothing we can do about it

I see you've got plenty of votes in this direction, but about a year ago, we dropped Speakeasy for Comcast. We were paying a silly amount to Speakeasy for business level access (needed for home use, but also paid for by an employer). We could get similar speed on Comcast for 30% of that cost, which made the decision pretty easy.

When I first moved here and was looking to set up internet service I polled my coworkers and one of them said "Well, you can go with a local company and get crappy service, or go with the Evil Empire and get service that works." I chose the latter!
