-> It's been a while since an update but it doesn't seem like it because I use my DW to write when I'm at work so I'm actually on it everyday pretty much - heh.

-> I'm heading to OzComicCon in a couple of weeks, mostly to support a friend who is re-launching some of his books but also to meet some artists and hopefully catch a sneaky glimpse of ( Read more... )

Hi hi. :)

I'm with you re: celebrities. I just...can't imagine anything more awkward or pointless than meeting one. What i'd *want* to happen - an interesting and relaxed conversation on topics of mutual interest - won't ever, so ten seconds of 'you're very talented/i like your work/you're awesome' is not only pointless but kinda...offputting.

Ack, flu-thing! That sucks. Be well, bb!

Oh you don't talk like that to Mark Sheppard - he'd just take the piss out of you.

Hi you! *squish*

They do have a dinner that you could go along to but again, it would probably be a bunch of people vying for their attention and not relaxed at all so no, no I can't. I have terrible social anxiety with people I don't know and even though they are celebs, they are still strangers... hee!

People also think I hate them when I first meet them because of that (because I don't seem at all shy when with people I know/am comfortable with) so they would also probably leave the experience thinking, why did she want to meet someone she hated so much... hee!

I don't mind meeting strangers but...you couldn't just *meet*, and relax. Even if i wasn't doing any sort of fangrrl thing, everyone around me would be, and that would irritate me (i know, i know) and i would just....
*flail*

Not be happy.

I was told by one of my dearest friends that she thought i hated her when we first met, because of my rather reserved nature. I was flabbergasted, because it thought she was *so amazingly awesome*. So, there's that, too. I guess we have more than just fandom in common!!

*twirls you*

You should definitely try to meet Mark Sheppard, he's awesome and doesn't give you (or me, anyway) that "omg he's a celeb RUN AWAY" thing. He's great to talk to! And he gives really good con - he's one of my favourite ever con guests, he can talk FOREVER and has stories about everyone and everything and he GETS fandom.

Also I got your message earlier and will email you later! Thanks for poking me:)

I'm going to see what panels are happening on the day and if there's anything interesting he's on I will try and get in.

I met Jason at Collector Mania in London - he was all on his own waiting for people to get his autograph so I had a chance to chat with him for a bit and he was lovely (as well as totally gorgeous to look at of course!). I expect he'll be a little more popular now though, this was before GOT came out, he was filming the first season at the time.

Bill Bailey!!! He is totally awesome. Your face will crack.

I just want to thank you for posting the polyam link on tumblr!

I routinely use the wayback machine to find fic, and I have been astonished at the terrible results of sorting by kudos to find HP fic on ao3.

Using the google site search sort of helps though, since walktheplank.org is still up.

Thanks again <3
