What is in a last name to a billing office?  Why do they care who is paying the bill as long as someone is willing to provide a credit card number and pay the bill?

Today I was paying some of Jimmy's medical bills. Most places have online bill pay systems (which I will point out, don't care that my last name does not match his).  One vendor only

I tried to switch my cellphone to my own plan a while back, and they wouldn't allow me to do this until Michael listed me as an 'approved account name'. Seriously. I was trying to pay a bill and make 2 plans (meaning more money for them) instead of 1. Ugh. corporations. What happened to smalltown business that you can walk into? lol
