I woke up last night with my feet dangling off the bed. This is an exceptional occurrence, because I'm shorter than my bed. So, I tried to wriggle back up, and hit the wall. I realized that I was in fact sleeping SIDEWAYS. It was totally disorienting: my windows, for instance, had appeared to be in totally the wrong place.

End of story.

Today, I'm feeling like an angry teenager. This is refreshing, in a way. Perhaps a little backtracking will make for a new start, somehow.

That would be nice.

I wonder what it was like to hear "A Day in the Life", for the first time, when it was first released -- just sitting at the end of Sgt. Pepper. I'm not sure I've ever had that kind of brilliant kick in the head.

It is SO HUMID. How is it possible that in 90-degree weather my clothes DO NOT DRY on the clothesline between noon and 8pm? Sigh.

My neighbor is running a sprinkler. I thought it was gurgly aliens at first, and was concerned.

Okay, not all THAT concerned.

Also, who runs a sprinkler this time of year? It's not particularly hot out, and they don't have a spectacular garden, just a lawn. It's a waste of water, if you ask me.

This made me smarter!
