I wish someone had written me this letter when I was a "stylish" young woman. Not that I would have heeded it as I was completely misunderstood, you see. By everyone. But I was so obviously "stylish" and I have the photographic evidence to prove it. Under lock and key.
I know full well that when I was in my late teens and early twenties, my elders looked upon my clothing with disdain and wonder. They were wrong. I looked great!
Ah, generational divides. It's like the stoner / skateboarder Travis says in Clueless: "the way I feel about the Rolling Stones is the way my kids will feel about Nine Inch Nails, so I should lay off my Mom."
In conclusion? Obviously I am not ready to accept that I am no longer in the Stylish Young demographic. Pass the bootleg jeans, please.
