Heh. I do love some Sensible Minerva. Unflappable, that woman is. And just the tiniest bit naughty.(Are we sure she didn't spike the mead herself?)

Of course, each of the other characters is perfect, too--just as I would imagine them being.

Ahh, that is a fantastic take on the prompt "Black-out" !!!
How typical of Minerva to prefer single malt over mead and therby not be affected :-))

Thanks! I thought a "magic blackout" would be fun to write, and it was.

I wonder what Hagrid had in mind for Filius, drugging him like that...

I need more whiskey.

Ah, this brings back fond memories of Hoggywarty staff parties! I love Not-Counting Pomona and her careful assessment of just how much would do the trick for someone with Filius's body weight. May have lost her magic, but definitely not her marbles.

"So all I have to do is pee a lot? That's my practical Hooch!

And Minerva would keep her cool and her single malt.

I shall make changes to the wording of next year's Christmas Card, btw, now that I know the correct American expression. It's a good day when you learn something new.

Thanks for reading this silliness! I had a lot of fun with it.

I don't even like the movie Die Hard (from which the famous "yippee. . ." line comes); I watched it only to see Alan Rickman's iconic villainous turn as Hans Gruber. But (to my mind, very oddly), the film has somehow become firmly established as a "Christmas movie," so it seemed plausible that Hooch would assume that oft-quoted "yippee-ki-yay, mf" is something Americans say at the holidays (because of course she goes to the Muggle cinema).
