After the cut
Fruity Curried Chicken
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
I liked this one a lot. I've made this twice already so far but I think I won't make it again for awhile. The first time I made it, after I had already started I realized I actually didn't have curry powder.. I just used a little more cumin and basically substituted with coriander, it still tasted good. The recipe also called for 1 apple and 1 pear.. I used 2 apples instead because I'm not really into pears. I also left out the jalapeno the second time I made it, it didn't seem to make a difference.
Turkey Meatball Sub
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
I liked this one a lot too. A short story... David had just came home from work and had taken one of these into the living room to eat. He put the plate down and went back to the kitchen to get a drink. When he returned to the living room he couldn't find where he put the sandwich. There was an empty plate and he asked if that was mine, and I said no. We then noticed Creme was finishing up eating something on the floor. Apparently in the less than a minute time frame that David had spent walking to and from the kitchen to grab a drink, Creme had stole and devoured the entire sandwich.. fucking bastard...
Spicy Chicken and Brown Rice Pilaf
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
This was allright..I liked the chicken and the rice was okay. It was fairly easy to make and I remember the chicken actually being kind of nice and tender.
Pasta Roll-Ups with Spinach and Turkey
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
This was pretty good. It took a long ass time to make though. The recipe also made several servings. I made this early on Saturday and basically ate it all day, I think for like 3 meals in a row that day. It is good, but by the end of the day I got sick of eating it all day long and desperately needed to eat something else for the next meal. It's good but is kind of heavy feeling.
Strawberry and Mozzarella Salad
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
I actually used Monterey jack cheese instead of mozzarella, but you can't really tell in the picture they're both white. The dressing is basically olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. This was okay.. I think I'm not really a big fan of cheese unless it's melted. I mean I do like cheese but it's not my favorite thing in the world.
Spinach and Cranberry Stuffed Chicken Breasts
From the October 2008 issue of Oxygyen.
The photo of this looks kind of crappy but it was actually pretty good. The white stuff stuffed in there with the cranberries and spinach is ricotta cheese. It's served on top of quinoa.
Baked Salmon with Orange Glaze
From the Spring 2008 issue of Clean Eating.
The photo of this one is kind of crappy too. It's hard to see what it is exactly. You can sort of see better in the closeup that it's salmon. One of the ingredients used to make the orange glaze was a store bought orange marmalade. The orange marmalade had tiny pieces of orange rind in it, which I disliked. Overall, I did like this, but didn't like the tiny pieces of orange rind.
