Our friend Sarah

I just heard from a friend of hers that Sarah Schoch passed away this morning.  I'm too sad to really say anything constructive except that I know that she will be missed by all the people who loved her.  She was a sweet, wonderful, brave girl.

;_; Although she warned everyone that it was coming, I'm very saddened to hear that. She was amazing and I'm sure her loved ones are devastated. I'll keep them in my thoughts.

Ach. She shouldn't have had to go.
I just went back and read all her lj entries - what a sad, sweet, hopeful but detached tale. And then I remember that it's real. Like viking times, like slavery times, like the renaissance...all these storylike things really happened and the world is richer for them - and so we are for her story. Still...she shouldn't have had to.
But I am glad she is not feeling pain any more.

She was so eloquent, insightful, matter-of-fact, and courageous. I wanted her to continue defying the odds...

I don't know how quite to put it. When I read those words, I felt like a hand had just grabbed my heart and twisted it...

...what an emptiness.
