Forking is not what you described - it's when you stick plastic forks into people's lawns. You do it at night, when it's a bit damp out, and the forks go in pretty easily. But the next morning, if the ground has dried enough, then the fork is stuck and when the homeowner tries to remove the fork, the prongs end up breaking off and they're stuck in the ground. Just another form of evil mischief that the young people have been enjoying for years on end...
