Since it's been two years since my last proper blog post on Livejournal, I think a brief summary of the events of the past two years is in order. :)

Here we go....

Work - I'm still working for the same company but in a more senior, yet similar, position. I decided to put any plans of becoming a freelance translator on hold as I feel I need a lot more ( Read more... )

Wow. Really? Maybe I've seen you around. :)

Do you have to commute very far?

I actually work in Amsterdam but it was way easier to find a house in Almere and commute rather than live in Amsterdam (and my partner's company is based in Almere) so we decided to move here. It's not a bad city...it just lacks character since it's such a young city. :)

I think most expats are negative about the country they move to. Guess it's very human to compare everything with the country (/-ies) they grew up in / are used to, and especially notice the negative things in their new situation. I had EXACTLY the same when I went to live in England. Was there for 3 years, and then gave up, and moved back to Holland.
