I'm not exactly arachnophobic but they still creep me out. And I hate the thought of one crawling on me at night.
I'm glad the bite isn't too bad.
One thing I don't have to worry about here is freezes/frost. It sounds like your roses are doing well. I've lost many of mine due to old age and drought but even plants get old.
I always feel bad when a tree has to be taken down...we have had several cut down in recent years due to how close they were to the house mostly and it always makes me sad.

I hate spiders, too. I know they have a purpose, but... At least these are small spiders. One night, I threw back my sheets to get in bed, and a big, black spider the size of my thumb went scurrying back under the sheets. I squealed and nearly soiled myself. I wasn't getting into bed until Jon did a thorough search and dispatched that thing! I still had trouble drifting off, I had the creeps so bad.
You always have the prettiest flowers. I tried to make a comment on your post, but I kept hitting the wrong button, so I gave up. The first one was my favorite, although I could've gazed at them all for a long time. Is your olive tree still producing?
