It really seems to be the week of tragedies. My dear friend Jason Taniguchi's mom passed away on Monday. She was a wonderful lady. Heartbreaking. Jason had the kind of relationship with his mother that I always wished for

After I got off the phone with Jason, I told Steve. I said: "I feel bad, not just because of the obvious, but also because I always wanted to get to know Mrs Taniguchi better, and I never did."

He said: "But we know Jason."

One of those suddenly perfect moments, you know? Because, yes: We do. And she's half the reason why--not just genetically, but in every other way, too. Man.

I'm sorry about Phyllis, too, though I didn't know her as well as you did. I do remember you reading that poem, though; it really is amazing.;)
