Thank you for the flowers. They are beautiful. There's lots of flowers here right now. Spring isn't adhering strictly to the calendar. Whilst accompanying Miss G and 60-plus other 8- and 9-year olds on a bushwalking excursion on Friday, I found out that the floral emblem for the Central Coast (the egocentric name given to the area in which I live) is the native fuschia or correa - here's some for you here:

how pretty! (btw, my friend ken from blacktown once sent me a funny poem about the wattle. i had never heard of it as a plant, knew it only as the hangy-down skin under a turkey's neck -- and mine! -- and wrote back expressing amazement. he likes to laugh at me when i'm ignorant. *g*)
