Yesterday, I was totally lost on how to customize my LJ, but then I Google searched "LJ customization help" and came across this site: http://www.journalhelp.com/ It REALLY explains how to customize your LJ so it'll look prettyful! Oh, and you have to use the Old System (S1) to customize the journal, and then you put all the overrides(the codes that will make your journal look AWESOME) under "Style Overrides ( ... )

Here are my style overrides that I used for my layout if you want to refer to them as an example:

LASTN_TALK_READLINK=>%%messagecount%% surfer%%mc-plural-s%% ... )
