week 9: to be me, or not to be me?

MG posed us this question for week 9:

The key question that Shakespeare asks throughout his plays though -and especially in his last play "The Tempest"- is "do we have to be on the stage all the time?" when reading the question that MG posed to you I firstly thought of how i would answer that myself and it was completly different to how you answered it, but in saying that you answered it alot better!! I know the song your thinking of and it is completly relevent to the question and it made me think of all of the roles that i play in my life, be it with friends family, uni, work any situation really you change to suit what is going on around you, which then begs the question , who really are you?
really enjoyed reading it!

Kelly- so pleased that you took up this challenge. Well written and thoughtful. I like very much your own sense that we add dimension to ourselves and that the roles we play ARE us.... very interesting reflection. Now what is the role I play in front of myself???? How does that figure in your experience.... The role -say- you are "playing" as you write this insightful piece??
