I think it is important to emphasis the hard aspect of new parenting to teenagers and young adults, because it really is a lot of work, and I can't think of a better way to encourage kids to think before they leap. I'm huge on letting people make informed decisions, but it feels like with childrearing, we leave a huge piece of information out of the decision-making process, which is the fact that having kids is a lot of fun. And don't you think the narrative should shift, depending on whether you're talking to teenagers or established adults? I mean, why are we limiting our narrative about having children to the lowest common denominator?
