It's a torn acl... it is caused by a too quick turn at high speed.

If your puppy was white, I'd think you stole my baby. She just had a knee surgery too. She hates the cone, and whenever one of us puts it on her, she just stares at us with those big brown eyes that say "You really hate me don't you?" We call it the cone of whine....lol

He's all recovered from the knee thing, jumps on an off the bed... in and out of the car. It's hard to get him to slow down. I think he has a thing for the vet though. He's undergoing treatment for cancer, in remission. So we are hopeing for a full recovery from it too.
