I have to semi disagree. That is very much how the Newport Habor area is like. The show should be called Newport Heights or something instead of The OC because you are right, 99% of OC is NOT like that.

my personal notes on "the o.c."

#1 ok, the show was entertaining.

#2 it is in no way an accurate portrayal of life in 99.7% of orange county.

#3 how dare they make a show about orange county and not include MY studio in it?! do you realize there has been a party there at least once a week for the past 2 years? people come in off the streets, we have to turn them away! dammit, THIS is the oc: la palma, cypress, orange, hb, anaheim, garden grove, buena park, and of course lovely stanton, home of studio 42!! dammit!!! i wish they'd get it right. i will seriously write whoever is in charge and force them to do an episode at my studio (only if i get to do dirty things with the hot neighbor and her best friend summer though ;) muhuhahaha).

#4 if you're going to make a show about a place, at least please VISIT the place and do some ACTUAL RESEARCH before you go dragging it thru the mud like this? thank you. :)

they can't show anything in OC because they film it mostly in LA, or so i've heard...someone read a newspaper article and it said it was filmed in Hermosa and other LA cities. lamer.

yeah, i read that article . . . it is filmed in hermosa. weak.

strangely it's entertaining though and i'm sad to say i'll prolly watch it when i can.

about that punk band you mentioned. it looks like things may be stabilizing with one or both of my bands, and unfortunately i wouldn't be able to tour either way, cuz i gotta start saving to move out and i can't jeopardize the new job with touring. sorry! :(

Hey i live in Newport. the only thing is the plot, not believable. the character structure and environment id say is accurate. the only thing is the show is about Newport. the only place in "the OC" that people know about. why, bc famous people live here. Dennis Rodmans bitch with like hella of his half kids lived in the same building as me. ive seen him, hes creepy in real life, him and all his fancy cars. (he even has a hummer with pictures of nudy chicks on them.) anyway, the big huge trucks that run minorities and old people over with the surfboards on top is true. listening to dumbass local music really loud is also true. and that tower thing before they got into the house is true. i dont know about it being filmed in hermosa but it sure looks like Newport Coast to me. besides i have a friend that lives in that area and she said from what she heard its pretty accurate. think about it, Newport Beach rich kids doing drugs at house parties and not getting caught. seems a little 90210 but hey it happens around here. but of course is

This show doesn't truly reveal what lies beneath the orange curtain.
