This evening I auditioned for a community theatre production. A lot of people auditioned, and I've never acted before, so I felt like an idiot for even trying, but I went

Yep, sounds like you've got a full plate. But that's a good thing. Still, if you feel overwhelmed decide how each of those rank in personal importance. You can ditch one or two--or at least put them on hold--to give yourself more breathing room.
You are wise...I may have to start prioritizing. The writing of course is key (not to mention, it pays, if only a bit) and the coaching course and acting are commitments that I've made to myself and others. The rest of it...we'll see. The next Dale Carnegie course I'll be assisting at will be a special one--Palestinians and Israelis together, for the first time ever. I'm also doing a story on it (of course).
It's a play that must have been written by someone in the community. The production will be a series of three short plays about inter-gender relations. The one that I got cast in has only three characters--a girl, a guy, and a waiter. I'll be the girl (I guess that was obvious :)).
It's funny--so many times as I was waiting to go in, I almost got up and ran away. The whole process was SO alien and scary for me. This is exciting.
Nice. What do you coach? And do you actually do painting art? I never knew that! (But then I never knew anything about you ;) I just remember a picture of unicorns or ponies Fetteredwolf had from you...Which I am sure does not represent your artistic capabilities, because it was done when you were probably like 9??? :D)
I don't coach YET...that would be scary. :) I just started an intensive 32-week course. It's basically a practical alternative to therapy. Controversial, but there's a market for people who don't want to take six months to years to solve their pressing problems.
I don't do as much art as I'd like (see above regarding the inability to find time) but when I lived here as a teenager I took lessons twice a week for years. I used to be better at it, actually.
Wow, Superwoman! That's awesome! I used to do community theatre. It was great fun, and they knew that everyone had jobs and lives outside, so it was very accomodating. I used to do my homework while sitting in the green room waiting for my scenes. :)

Wish we could come see you perform!

Ok, I figured out what play I'm doing... :) It's "Sure Thing" by David Ives, but modified in places to be relevant to our community.

I suppose I'll stop nagging you about the other thing, then. :)

I AM sorry. The single biggest problem in my life is making time for all the things I want to do. I currently suck at it.

Glad to hear it. :) I still love fantasy art, but now I'd draw/paint something with more of an edge...

Thanks, Jen! :) I'm still a little in shock. Acting is one of those things that I always wanted to do but was never sure if I'd suck at it or not.
