Emily forgives Paige for the whole drowning situation.
It was the morning after Emily had turned up at Paige’s house and they had officially ended up together. Paige was feeling a tad happier than usual because of it. After coming out to her parent’s and them finally being okay with it, she became gradually more comfortable with her sexuality.
But the one thing that still bothered her was the fact she still felt guilty for the almost drowning Emily, and rightly so too, Paige knew she had been completely out of order for what she did. With all the time she had spent dwelling on it since she had woken up, she now realised if she didn’t leave now she would be late.
Paige pulled into the school car park just in time to get the things she needed before class. She walked to her locker to get her books, as she walked into her first class her phone buzzed. She pulled her phone out of her pocket as she sat down, the text was from Emily. “Morning. I missed you before class today, not like you to be late McCullers.” Paige smiled to herself; she quickly typed back a response. “Slept in... I must have been tired from beating you in the pool yesterday.” Paige hit send. She didn’t want to tell the girl about her worrying this morning, the relationship was new and fresh, she didn’t want to run it just yet. She decided she get in some swim practice at lunch, that usually cleared her head.
Paige was on her second set of laps and had just turned to go back to start, when she spotted a pair of legs dangling in the water in the lane she was swimming in. She stopped and looked up at the culprit, there sat Emily with a smile on her face. Paige quickly switched lanes and swam up to the wall and pulled herself out so she was sitting next to Emily.
“Swimming at lunch? That’s dedication, especially after our swim session last night. Emily nudged her on the arm. “What’s with the extra practice anyway, or are you just trying to avoid me.” Emily was joking of course, but Paige remained quiet and stood up to get her towel that was on the bleachers. “I need to go and get changed; I’ll be out in a sec.” Paige told the other girl as she walked off to the changing rooms.
Paige got changed a little slower than usual, but not slow enough to make Emily think she was actually avoiding her. She walked out of the changing rooms to see the girl in question sitting on the bleachers on her phone. Paige walked over to her, and as Emily saw her approaching she went retrieve something out of her bag. Paige sat down next to her, and as she did Emily handed her a chocolate bar. “I tried calling you to see if you wanted to have lunch, but when you didn’t answer or come into the canteen I stopped by the vending machine and got you that.” Emily nodded her head towards the chocolate bar now in Paige’s hand. “I figured if you were studying in the library or here, you wouldn’t have eaten yet, was I wrong?”
Paige shook her head; the other girl gave her a small smirk.
“So, you want to tell me what’s up, or am I going to have to bribe you with candy bars?” Emily asked her seriously obviously expecting an answer. Paige sighed and put the candy bar in her pocket for now.
“Technically nothing is actually up, just after last night, I was just a little worried about the elephant the room.” She looked down and shifted uncomfortably. Emily seemed to have a confused a look on her face. “What are you talking about? What elephant? I thought we talked about the Maya thing last night.” Paige shook her head, meaning that’s not what she meant. “Then what?” Emily asked curiously. Paige just shifted her gaze over to the pool and gulped, wondering whether to start. “Wait... Paige, are you talking about the whole drowning thing?” Paige looked down again and gave a small nod. Emily was now clearly shocked that this was what Paige meant.
“Paige, do you really think I would have turned up at your house last night if I thought you were going to do something like that again? You made a mistake; I would be a hypocrite if I judged you on it. I forgave you a long time ago.” Emily squeezed Paige’s hand to get her point across. “I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, and that’s part of the reason I like you, you are so strong and you don’t even realise it.” Emily finished talking and waited for the girl to finally look up at her.
They only had 5 minutes left of their lunch break, and Emily really didn’t want to leave this unresolved for the rest of the day. So, Emily told girl just that, and Paige finally looked up. “Em, you have to realise I’m so sorry about it, I have no...” Emily cut the girl off and pulled her into a hug. “I already told you I forgive you. Now come on, we are gonna be late for our next class.” The two girls linked arms and left for class, which luckily they both shared together.

You have no idea how much I hate this... I know I probably wrote Emily a little out of character, but my mind went completely blank when I started writing. I hope this is right at least, I may hate it... But points are points :D
