"I hate to say this, but this place is getting to me. I think I'm getting the Fear."

Yesterday and today I've been fearful. Walking down the sidewalk yesterday, I thought, "What if a car hits me? There's insurance money in cases like that, but you're never the same again. What if I became a paraplegic and couldn't walk? And I couldn't get to the tops of mountains anymore, or have children? How would that change my life?" My heart ( Read more... )

Well, whatever life throws at you; I try to appreciate you. I mean, you can't be any worse to appreciate than say... investments in the mortgage insurance industry. Feel free to vent at me more often. I have a few friends who do on a regular basis and it's really one of the few times I feel useful to other people in a concrete way. \m/ -_- \m/

*Hugs* I hope all the physical stuff that's causing the anxiety gets taken care of soon. Let me know if you ever want to talk :)

I think I do better with problems I can't do anything about. For the ones I can do something about, it's usually not easy to figure out what exactly to do or to actually do it.

Well, the latter is something we all have in common. That's where we just have to trust who we are, what we know, how we were raised, and what we feel in order to make a decision. When we're wrong, it's usually because of something we didn't know, so the matter wasn't really in our control after all; we can own that and learn from it. When we're right, we've earned that victory. For what it's worth, you have lots of friends, and we all have faith in you.

I think that "figuring out what to do" is usually pretty straightforward. It's the "deciding to do it, even though that can cause problems" that's hard.

Your fears touch too close to home right now for me to give an unbiased answer.

All I can say is that everyone has fears. You just have to learn to deal with them, whether they are founded or unfounded. And bad things happen to everyone. No one has a perfect life. Sometimes they will be small bad things, sometimes larger ones. But I think the point of all this is to keep living and enjoying the good times -- despite whatever the world throws at you -- and to learn something from the bad times whenever possible.

And remember, your friends and family will always be there for you when the times get too stressful to deal with alone.
