Weekend-at-con report
Few days late, but here goes the tale of how my weekend went.
So. Saturday I got up - way too early - to catch a train for Milan. manxsama and yohjiko_kudo came to pick me up at the station, then we went to drop my bags at yohjiko_kudo's place and out again. We went to lunch at a Japanese restaurant, and this time I gave the tempura soba a go. Very yummy.<3 We spent most of lunch joking and squeaking over Crisis Core, Zack's adorable dorkness and Final Fantasy 7 in general. I think we sort of scared off some of the other customers in the restaurant.^^;
We wandered around a bit more, then we made it back to Yotan's sometime before dinner. Yo had to go to mass with her parents, manxsama went to the grocery shop to buy some chips and snacks for later and I stayed in to watch the Crisis Core CG movies with Yo's 19' brand new computer monitor. Needless to say, Manx - who can give me a run for my money on the bad timing department - made it back as I was watching the ending, and walked into the room exactly when Cloud screamed. Then she cursed, sat beside me and we watched the rest. I cried again. Damn Squeenix.
We fooled around until dinner time, and Manx gave me the stuff she had gotten for me, like xxxHolic volume 2 and 3, and my chocobo plushie and the infamous Crisis Core t-shirts she had done for me! *squees*

Much better. *coughs* Anyway.
After eating we retreated back to Yo's room, and we watched 300 - which I had never seen before. God. I laughed myself hoarse with the leather speedo jokes. I'm going to track it down a copy in English for our next meet up, so we can fully enjoy the "This is Spartaaaaaa!" in all its glory. Is it bad that the sentence "My bankai will block out the sun" kept running through my brain? Damn you, capslock_bleach and your Macro Thursday.
After 300, we tackled an anime manxsama brought, Zombie Loan. Coincidentally, the two main characters, Chika and Shito, are voiced by Suzumura and Sakurai, Zack's and Cloud's voice actors, and the anime is produced by Square. That was all the reason we needed. Turns out, not only the anime is really cool, but it also is so full with subtext it was dripping all over the place. The next morning we got up and made our way to the con after collecting our other friends at the station, and both manxsama and myself were wearing our CC shirts. Now, we already had all our bags because we were supposed to head back home straight after the con, and the con was a small one at that. There were just a couple of things we were aiming for. Me, I wanted an original copy of the Advent Children soundtrack only to get it autographed next month my Uematsu, manxsama was looking for two art books and the FF7 bike models, and Yo was just looking around, and neither of us was supposed to buy anything else in order to save money for our trip to Florence for the concert. *snorts* Yeah, right.
Just for once, I can safely say that it was all manxsama's fault. She started it. We were wandering around, browsing the books on one of the stands and then she suddenly goes still and points to the shelf behind the vendor's back. And I see it too. A Sephiroth plushie.
We likely burst the guy's eardrums with our shriek. manxsama bought it, and then we discovered that it was actually the last one. Rawr. So, there were four of us, and just one plushie. As a result, we basically spent all the day passing the plushie around, taking turns with snuggling and nuzzling him. manxsama just kept shaking her head amused, saying her Sephiroth was really a slut, going with everyone that way. To demonstrate that we were totally not going nuts over the plushie, I bring proof of how we stopped to put it in the trunk of a friend's car on our way to lunch. As you can see, we just dumped him in there, not caring of how he was, and most definitely not tucking him in with my coat. Yep. *coughs*
Of course, after that, we only kept on spotting shiny stuff and buying more. I managed to find the AC soundtrack - and ended up egging on yohjiko_kudo to buy not only the original FF7 game soundtrack, but also the DC one in the special edition with the Gackt DVD. Uhm. Oops?XD Manx found more plushies and her art books, I got a Fenrir chain necklace for the Brat's birthday, and I even managed to find the FF7 school calendar by Yubinbasya! *bounces* I'll be scanning it and post it as soon as I can get some alone time with my scanner. There were also a lot of D.Gray-Man stuff, and I ended up buying this most cute Tyki Mikk tag.
It was damn expensive - twice as much as my Bleach tags - but I simply couldn't help myself. Tyki is just too hot. So this is how the dangly bits of my cellphone looks now.

I was set. But I was wrong. We went over to a friend of manxsama's table, and on the way I saw the coolest thing ever - the big Fenrir pin mounted on a black leather wristband.
manxsama and I looked at each other, and she went "If you're not buying it, I will". It was cheap - just a plain black leather wristband like that would cost easily trice as much, never mind the pin - so I went ahead and got it.
After that, we decided it would be better if we fled the place before we bought even more stuff. But then on our way to get the others we passed by the table were manxsama got her plushie again. And what had the man filled the empty spot left by plushieSeph with? An AC!Cloud plushie. With PVC clothes, a First Tsurugi and Fenrir printed in silver on his shoulder guard. I squealed and bought it. He's as cuddly and soft as plushie Sephiroth.

After that, we fled the con for real, and made our way back to the station. Still snuggling and passing around the plushies. We walked manxsama to her train, and said our goodbyes, with her leaning out of the window and us still on the platform. What do you think happened at that point? If any of you answered "made a spectacle of yourselves", you won a cookie. If you answered that said spectacle involved waving around the plushies, "Please stay like that in my memory", "I will not be just a memory" and plushie PDAs, you won chocolates and pie.XD
After that I went to catch my own train, and arrived home still gleeing over my new shinies. I was exhausted, had a horrid cold and voiceless yet again. But, god, it's always worth it.
We'll be meeting up again at the end of the month for our trip to Florence, for Uematsu's concert. And I already know I'll be getting my Cactuar plushie, and I'm taking my laptop along to watch the Gackt DC dvd and 300 again, this time not dubbed. I might also bring along my plushieCloud just to let him meet up with plushieSeph again.
