September has been a busy month and it is only going to get busier. A list of things that have happened and will happen by the end of the ninth month.

• School started after Labor Day
• My internship at the Sacramento History Museum was discontinued and my thesis project was in jeopardy = major stress

Nick and I went to our mortgage broker's office this evening and signed our lives away. We should have the keys in the next few days.

 For the past few weeks, I have been fighting the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The wouldn't allow me to attend the State Historian I exam, but I met the minimum qualifications.  I sent them a cordial letter and a more argumentitive letter.  This morning I got an e-mail that they are allowing me to be admitted to the examination.

We are in contract to buy a house. A bank accepted an offer we wrote.  

Last night Nick and I went to the exhibit preview of the brewery exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. I only did research on the exhibit, so I had not idea how the finished project would look. A month ago, I submitted my application for the State Historian I exam with the California Department of Parks and Recreation. Last Friday, I received a letter denying my admittance to this exam because my application "does not indicate you have had sufficient experince of the type required for this examination."

 The past two weeks at work have been extremely boring. We are in a lull at the moment. This morning I have had 20 minutes of work to complete. I loathe being bored at work. I can be bored at home.

Nick and I are still hunting for a house. We have written a few offers, but it is slow going. Unfortunately, ninety-five percent of the homes for sale are owned by banks. The banks are looking for investors with all cash to take the homes off of their hands. That just isn't us ( Read more... )
