Haha, I can tell you're not a Michigander, because you're congratulating Pittsburgh! Everyone from Michigan is wailing and crying and telling Pittsburgh to go die in a fire.
That's one thing I always found funny about living in Michigan... everyone is absolutely rabid for the Red Wings, whereas no one else in the U.S. cares about hockey. (Me, I don't give two craps about any sports teams, or sports in general.)
You forget that your Wings beat my Hawks. Plus a true Chicago hockey fan is obligated to root against Detroit. Plus, its good sportsmanship to congratulate the winner, especially after a well-played series like that one.
My wings? One, I'm not actually from Michigan-- I just grew up there, wasn't born there. And B., as stated I don't give any number of craps about sports or the associated teams. :-)
And Red Wings fans seem incapable of being good sports about losing... my f'list is full of amusing cursing today. (It's probably because the Wings are one of the few things that Michigan has going for it.)
*clears throat* I take offense to that...there are some Red Wings fans that can be gracious in defeat. And this wasn't like we had not been there in forty years('95) or going out in a game marred by a cheap shot('96), or...the Ducks. It came down to one game, winner-take-all...and we lost. We'll be back next year.
