This can be such an awkward situation-- because it isn't just that Kenichi is younger, but that Talia has always had more of a parent/sibling relationship with him. I'm not sure that, in her shoes, I could say yes!

Very awkward, and a 'yes' isn't automatic.

This came to me as I was packing up stuff for our move later this month. I found David and Leigh Eddings' The Sapphire Rose that has a older male/younger female relationship in a similar vein.

Then my mind went to the RL Woody Allen situation and I decided to flip that trope...making the younger party a lot older than eighteen and having at least some independent life experience in my imaginary situation so I wouldn't get too squicked out.
