You know what man? We're going to fucking fix this. What we're gonna do, is rent out a venue twice a month. One night Punk, the other metal, and we'll fucking start a scene. You can be the sound engineer with Raghav for support, Danny can promote and be the middle man between us and the venue, and i'll band hunt. We'll make this a gig that people who don't fit in will come to not to get drunk, but to slam dance and circle pit and feel a part of something bigger that will be there long after they're gone. We won't make profit, just earn enough to keep the venue each monts, maybe even charging bands a tenner a time to play, cos we'll get them some mad exposure. I'm set on this idea man. As soon as my exams are over, we will fucking get our shit together and make it happen. We'll make Liverpool music something to be proud of and we'll emulate what Mackaye and Minor Threat did in NYC in the 80's...this is my dream, it shall be so.
i fucking love it, what venue did you have in mind? also, don't ask bands to pay, tell them that it all depends on the turnout. i.e. if we make a profit they get some of it. some venues don't like you bringing your own engineer so get a place that does or just say that rag/me can engineer the bands and another guy can set it up and sound check. maybe
everything will work as long as we choose a good place and get it properly advertised
