Um, firefly happened.  It was amazing.  More narratives when I have access to photospamming abilities.
On a related note, I am planning on attending Burning Man in August 2009, and would like to go with whoever.  File it in the back of your brain.

Finished Frank Miller's Ronin last night; I was pleasantly surprised by the ending.  It's cool when you think to yourself "wouldn't this be a great thing to include in a SF-style story?  Why haven't I seen this before?" and a few years later, there it is!  If you can tolerate Miller's extremely "sloppy" art style, I recommend it.

I didn't do nearly as well in 6.005 as I thought I would.  I'm going to investigate, as I suspect presenting-difficulties-for-the-tas has something to do with this.

In any case, it's a sobering predicament.  I lost sight of my short-term goals while scheming about my long-term ones, and fell off the path.  Time to get back on!

I get my economic stimulus rebate after all!  Fuck yes $600!  and the $150 I'll get back from MIT-EMS for getting recertified.  I wish I could get paid this much to do the things I would do anyway all the time, but I guess that's the goal ( Read more... )

I finished transmetropolitan, and would recommend it to everybody/anybody.  It's a little fairy-tale-esque in the end-bits, but consistently hilarious.  Some of the product-of-society sections hit particularly close to home, after my work last summer ( Read more... )

Children of Florey was delivered, I know because the seniors have been loud and obnoxious outside my room for the past hour or so.  There were some pretty good/spot on ones.  Mine was appropriately scathing, but not specific enough!  I am slightly disappointed.  The picnic is later.  Probably more transmetropolitan and then a nap in-between.
