...and decide to take a break!
So, what's been going on in my life lately?
Well, I'm making the decision to reach financial freedom. Sarah is behind me 100%. We'll be making this decision every day until we reach financial freedom. Stay tuned for updates.
According to the game Cashflow 101, which is a finance simulator I spent $200 on a while back, if we can get our passive income (which is money we receive from our assets every month) higher than our expenses (which is money going out every month), then we're out of the rat race. This is basically an accounting way of saying we won't NEED to work in order to support ourselves, which frees us to choose whatever it is we want to do for our lives without worrying about how much money we need to make.
I am NOT expecting to become rich quickly, I know that financial freedom will take many years of hard work. Mistakes WILL BE MADE, I know that up front; I'm willing to face down whatever mistakes I make to learn from them and make myself that much smarter, stronger, and better able to fulfill my goal as a result.
I've decided to find an accountant to help get mine and Sarah's financial lives in order. The only way to really make financial plans for the future is to have a clear understanding about our financial situation in the now. I had to calm down a very animated and drunk Sarah last night because she's afraid of how bad her situation might be; the way I see it, if we don't bring everything out into the light of truth, it will only rot, fester, and become a worse problem.
Also, if anyone wants to play Cashflow with me or Sarah, we're totally down. It's insanely addictive and tons of fun even though it's primarily educational, and the more we show other people, the more we learn about it. So please, let us know if you're interested.
