Homestudy

So we are knee-deep in the homestudy process at this point! We've met with our social worker Nancy once so far, so we have 3 more visits scheduled (the final one being on July 9th). Nancy has said that she will try to write up the report part of the study as we go, so everything should be wrapped up fairly quickly after our final meeting. That

I'm glad there's so much information involved in preparing families to adopt - one of the arguments I've heard against adopting from other countries is that one may not be equipped to deal with the children's issues, but I think that's changing.

You & Chris have been talking about this for so long - it's so exciting to see the process in motion!

that is really cool. i keep telling people i meet about what you guys are going through because i have met people recently who are interested in adoption.

when do you think you will start trying to have your own too?

It is pretty interesting - when people find out that we're in the process of adopting I almost always hear "oh, my brother/cousin/friend adopted a child!" I think its more common than I used to think!
Well, we want to make sure that I've finished my degree (May 2009!) before we have a baby, so we'll start trying probably this Fall at the earliest :)
