Well, as Annie and Sally have already posted, Grampa died today. We all knew that it would be happening soon, so it really doesn't come as a surprise - but it is always kind of shocking when someone dies

honestly almost any job you go for is probation for the first 90 days. at least every job i have ever worked at has been that way and i have worked alot of them.

At this time of year they have to hire lots of extras because the work load is heavier in the summer for house loans. what happens is if they like you and your work after the three months and they are still in need of you it wont even matter...they will just say, congrats, you have a good paying job to keep for a while.

i hope the shock isn't to bad.

Where's it at? Does it pay well?

Well, the place where I interviewed was at Holmes and I-435, but the building where I'd actually be working is at College and Metcalf (kinda near Korma Sutra). During my temporary period I will only be making $12.02/hr (very close to what I made at All Star), but once I become 'regular' I'd be "making more" but no one could tell me how much that would be (depends on my performance, attendance, etc).

Awesome news about your new job!! Congratulations! That was very quick. How big is the company? I haven't heard of it (funny name :)), but that area is so clogged with professional buildings, it would be easy to miss. A discounted mortgage is a fantastic perk. Do you know when you'll start?

It's a bank out of California - I think there's about 8000 employees overall and about 400 in the KC area. Actually, I got a call from them today saying "whoops, actually you won't be starting until the 31st - sorry about that!" So I guess I don't start until a week from Monday!
