This ... This is really nerdy. I apologize to those of you who hate politics, or, similarly, love politics but are sick of some of these people. Myself, I find them delightful founts of entertainment. And I felt like this had to be done.
This piece is not complete unless you hear the REALLY IMPORTANT AUDIO COMPONENT, which is
here.

Please, please! I insist that you nitpick. What else do you edit for? I clicked no-holds-barred, and I wish for you to hit me, editorially, upside the head with a giant red pen.
I listen to BBC Radio 4's News Quiz podcast (as well as NPR's Wait, Wait! Don't Tell Me), usually when I'm cooking. And in Britain, the news media pretty much saw Governor Palin as a godsend. Every time Sandy Toksvig (the presenter) mentioned her on the News Quiz, they'd play a "Hallelujah" cue.
I am glad you like my Austen-style entry; I hear tell you're the resident expert on historical fiction, so that's high praise.

Your other editor really did a thorough job of discussing the merits of your essay, so I'll just add some fluff:
This was incredibly creative. I really know nothing of the ins and outs of politics, but it is quite evident that your "drama" captures the Republican spirit. Also, I like the polar bear. Your stage instructions give a great picture to the dialogue, and illuminate it very cleverly. I actually liked this better when I read it through a second time without the audio - I found I missed a lot, even with trying to follow along.
In short, this piece was very amusing and very well done. I don't know how you did in the polls (haven't checked that either), but your imagination was sustained by your capabities with this entry.
