The storms in the midwest have been just awful, these past few days. It's just devastating to see the pictures and video coming out of Joplin, MO. That cell-phone video that someone shot while taking shelter with several people in a gas station was just about the most terrifying thing I've ever heard. Wow, very frightening for those involved in severe storms like that. We have just been having blustery gales which have been providing plenty of tree debris but nothing serious. The north of England and Scotland has had a bit of a battering with plenty of trees down and structural damage. Weird weather for May :(

That's all I'd really like, anyway - a nice gentle rain that I can run around in, without fear of being struck by lightning, squashed by debris, or sucked up by a tornado.

and call me crazy, but i don't think this is too much to ask. i think everyone should be entitled to this.

but that doesn't seem to be the way we're headed... does it? :|

one of my high school friends now live(d) in joplin. she and her kids are okay. but !!!!!

That video of those people huddled in the gas station is the stuff my nightmares are made of...Even without pictures it was terrifying!...Meanwhile more nastiness is headed our way...Our turn for the worse should be Wednesday...There could be more massive storms in Illinois and Indiana then.
