This is just one example of why universal electronic health records are needed. HIPAA just screwed everything up royally.

Thank you. What's even better is that the other hospital she's used changed hands about 2 years ago and ALL the records went into long term storage. So I can't look up her past visits or physicians w/o pulling records from storage. It's ridiculous that when someone is ill the md's function in a medical vacume unless all procedure were done in their network or if you file forms everywhere to copy your records to another place. And it can't be a boiler plate form, every facility has their own special little release form. Bah I say!! Bah!!
