Well, I m all settled and moved in....ijust got the internet today. Is lonely living here all by myself but I started work today so that should take up most of my time.

I remember when I was living in Illinois for that very short time that they did no recycling deposit there either, and I'm not positive, but I don't think there's one here in Alberta at all. In fact, I don't think non-commercial places (like homes and residences and stuff) get to recycle plastics at all unless they pay to have them picked up. Alberta doesn't believe plastics recycling is profitable enough. (Because y'know, recycling is all about profit and not about saving the planet or anything ( ... )

Oh! And there is different words for things here. A beanie is called a touque, everyone calls lip-balm lip-chap, and on the rare occasion that racism occurs, it's against native americans (called aboriginals here, actually, or just "natives") moreso than any other ethnicity. Also, being Caucasian in Calgary is the ethnic minority. It's just weird how different things can be when you move away from where you've always been. :)

Well, Ohio isnt that much different from michigan (esp. toledo--its only like 15 minutes from Michigan!) Not like a whole other country! Even though Canada is right by St. Clair I cant imagine how different it must be all the way over in Calgary. Now, Tokyo on the other hand.....haha.

Oh yeah...but I am so glad to be done working with food!! Although I think working on a college campus or for students is not too bad because in all honesty they tend to be more polite. Its their parents that always seem to have a problem! At least thats been my experience.

Ohio is strange. Then, so is Colorado. Like... here you can have people ride in the back of your pickup truck. Lots of them. Legally. In the city. And little kids too. And you can tow with a rope... not a special tow rope, but like... a big thick rope that you tie people up with. Hahaha.

And I LOVE the no bottle deposit thing. I shriek with joy everytime I buy a 12-pack and don't pay an extra $1.20. And then I drink it... and hurl it into the trash!!!

I don't feel too bad, homeless people still collect them to take to the recycling place for like, $3 a pound or something (works out to be about 2.5 cents/can.

Also, I miss Michigan lefts.

It's such a great feeling when you see the things you put so much work in being applied and actually used! New jobs are always a bit exciting.

I'm so happy for you! You'll have to show us pictures of the new place! Oh and let me know next time you're in Michigan, so I know when to plan my big kick it old school sleep over!
