As a side note, I am pretty sure that author was a grad student at Wesleyan while I was getting my undergraduate degree there.

Do you remember the author personally or does the timing just look right? (Either way, cool.)

If it is indeed the same person, I remember her personally - we were in a class together (some of the music classes, especially the hands-on electronic and world music classes were open to grads and undergrads).
