The Aspiring Scriptwriter walks into The Cafe and orders his usual -- a cup of coffee. He sits at his usual place with his boss and friend, The Comedian. It's a quiet Tuesday afternoon, just like any other afternoon at The Cafe. He props open his laptop and continues where he left off the night before. He puts his headphones on to block out external noises.
His cup of coffee is set before him. He looks up to thank the waitress and sees a new face. He stares at her for an extra three seconds as she sets down a glass of latte in front of The Comedian before realizing that he might be rude for doing so. He looks back down at his laptop and thank her. She blinks a couple of times before breaking into a smile, the ring at her lip glimmers under the light from the sun pouring in through the big cafe windows. She tells them to enjoy, and she walks away.
She sits down at her laptop, and he finds himself stealing glances from the corner of his eye. She doesn't realize this -- she is in the midst of a conversation with her internet friends.
He wishes she would look his way. And if she does, he'll make sure he smiles and not turn away.
should I continue?
