This morning for breakfast I had a bowl of oatmeal. For lunch I had 4oz of grilled turkey and 1 cup of sweetpeas mixed with corn. Not sure what I'm going to make for dinner. My energy level is very good today. Maybe I won't be able to eat a completely vegetarian diet until I can get the hang of knowing what veggies will keep my blood sugar up to a ( Read more... )

You did very good today. ^_^ Better than I did... If you like fish and turkey and don't have any moral issues as to why you don't want to eat them, then the ocassional piece of fish or turkey isn't bad for you. It's the fatty meats like bacon, sausage, salami, processed meats, and meat biproducts that are bad for you. The important things is that you feel good, and are happy with your choices. ^_^

Don't forgt the whole grains and soy products. That seems to be a big part of the vegan diet in the book I'm reading.

^^; I'm not trying to act like I know everything, but if you aren't happy with the things you are eating, then you won't stick to the diet. If you are having trouble adjusting your diet because of your blood sugar levels, perhaps consider talking to a nutritionist. They might be able to help you plan out a balanced diet. If you collect enough information, you should be able to come up with something that works for you.

^^; sorry for the babbling...

TY so much, sis. Yeah I'm going to talk with my doctor this week to see what kind of choices I need to make to keep my sugar levels stable. It's not a moral issue about the meat at all. My doctor is a strict vegetarian so I think he's trying to pass his eating habits onto me. My daughter loves soy products and since she's allergic to dairy she's been eating them since the beginning. It's a bit harder for me because I just can't get used to the taste. I basically want to just have a diet that's healthy enough to help me lose weight and feel better about mysself. :) TY, sis!
