What I have learnt so far from travelling Europe.

1. You can't escape Nickelback. Ever.
2. Driving on the wrong side of the road is scary.
3. France sucks.
4. The most expensive thing you can do is sleep.
5. Breaking up with your girlfriend 3 days into a 7 week trip, isn't as bad as it sounds.
6. France sucks.

1. Update - didn't hear Nickelback in Ireland, and thus far in Scotland it has been 'never made it as a wiseman' free.
2. Update - the narrow roads that say 100km/h when I'm too scared to go over 60 are worse.
3. No update, I've always had a dislike for France ever since the first time I went there.
5. Sure was me! We're doing ok, still close, still friends, etc. Full update at Fringe I reckon.

It's ok, really is for the best. We're still close friends - and even make out every once in a while too.

There really is no rush on mailing the scarf. it's not like I can get it before the end of July anyway. I've since replaced the handkerchief with some purchased at a rather posh store in London anyway, that one is just.. sentimental.

As for the awesome, things have actually been better between us since breaking up oddly enough. And we're having all sorts of fun, seeing some incredible sights, and learning lots. World War II and World War I and the troubles in Belfast were all pretty horrific. You read about them in books, but there is something terribly humbling about seeing first hand where things occurred and talking to people who were involved.

1. um. THE WORST. but that reminds me of when i was in london and a song by the great lake swimmers came on the radio. difference is that the great lake swimmers are awesome.

3 & 6. i didn't like france as much as other places i went either. but why do you say that?

5. i'm sorry to hear. but good that it's not as bad as it sounds.

hope you're having fun. i'm super jealous!

You should be jealous, the trip has been pretty fantastic! I want to move to Ireland or Scotland, so beautiful. I got to drive across all of Ireland, an experience I'll never forget, woo!

As for France, I don't know why, but I just have never been able to figure it out, the country seems needlessly difficult I guess. Been there three times, and each time wasn't awesome.
