Anyone good with hair color? It seems Im an idiot when it comes to these things...

This morning I died my hair back to blonde (from a L'oreal Preference kit)... only it turned out more red/strawberry blonde!!!

Im worried that it may not fade and turn to blonde... any tip or suggestions on how to fix this this mess?...

My hair stylist has told me that it's very difficult to color dark hairs... usually the result isn't what we were expecting!
