Dutch has some wonderful words! I'm already campaigning (admittedly not very energetically) for us to start calling speed bumps "drempels" in the UK, and "winkelwagen" is clearly a superior name for shopping trolleys too.

I'm not so sure about "pissebed", though…

(I'm also unreliably informed that "zeeeend" is a sea-duck, which is especially cool.)

Hmm, I've actually recently heard 'drempel' used in english, can't recall where though. I've always been kinda charmed by the 'sleeping policeman' myself.

I've heard 'Dremmel' but not 'Drempel' used in English.

I've always thought of doing a photographic journey through the NL when I visit and make a thing about how Dutch can't spell since many of the words on the freeways look like misspelled English approximations.

No, not stroopwaffles! That's cheetah bait!
(It's almost as bad as peanut butter and chocolate.)

Koninginnedag XD

I think the meme is talking about a yard sale... but I honestly don't know what to call that in Dutch... we don't really do those, do we?

Wouldn't know about #10 either... I think I've heard "maaltijdsandwich" somewhere sometime...
