Ostrich steak for dinner

With a green salad and pommes duchesse, soooo mouthwateringly goood.

Steak was seared on a grill pan and put in the oven with the potato puffs to finish cooking.

Delicously pink on the inside, browned on the outside.

Good? We've ostrich farms here and I sometimes see the meat in shops..

Looks too much like liver to me. Does it taste like it also?

Nope, it tastes like slightly gamey steak, the liver look comes from the plastic wrapping, once taken out of the package an dried with a paper towel, it looks more like beef than anything else.

I just can't think about ostriches without thinking about very sharp edged weapons. Imagine how much fun you could have, getting mildly lagered up with several mates in an ostrich farm while armed with katanas.
