Unless something has changed, and there's a good chance of that, the program you really need is Word Perfect. It was a staple of law offices for a long time. It handled the indentation requirements of legal documents with ease. Best, removing formatting was a breeze. There was a "reveal codes" function that listed every formatting element applied and allowed you to delete them. WP was the superior word processor.
I still use and swear by WordPerfect(R). (Yes, the name is a one-word name.) I detest Microshaft Word(less) and use it simply because my employer requires that use. Anything I write on my own, I write using WordPerfect and if it needs to go to someone who refuses to See The Light and uses that Spawn of a Devil, it gets saved in Rich Text Format for their sakes.
Corel. PerfectOffice. If one is going to spend money for a word-processor and other office software, go Corel PerfectOffice. Otherwise, stay with Open Office. Stay Away from Microshaft.
Apple is leading us all into a brightly colored Hell. Somehow, people have confused functionality with bright colors and cute little symbols.
I really don't want to have to learn some new "symbolic language" to use my word processor.
And pull-down menus? There was nothing wrong with them. Thus: why the fuck did they massacre them? It's like drop-kicking a fully functional colander. Why?!
